Sinéad on David Letterman Show June 8, 200 Ben Adams reports: Sinead didn't come on until the very end of the show. After the Top 10 list, the had a commercial break, and that's when they set up for the band. And it was a HUGE band! There were strings, guitars, John Reynolds on drums, and three divas singing backup! It was really interesting to see them transform the whole stage in a matter of minutes. There was TONS of gear--more than I've ever seen her use on previous TV appearances. Sinead gently stepped out with everyone else and took her place in front, and there was still plenty of time to spare before the commercials ended. Meanwhile Sinead just stood there and moved a little while Paul & co. played (they always played during the commercials). Sinead waved at Dave when he came onstage, almost as though they hadn't seen each other yet. He told her she looked great, which she did. Her hair was very, very short (almost bald), and she was wearing a forest green dress that had kind of a suit-like top with full shoulders. The best part was the shoes! The heels must have been a mile high, and they were very strappy! Dave introduced Sinead's CD and said we should all go buy half a dozen copies of it tomorrow (if only we could!) Then the band started into that unmistakable intro of No Man's Woman! I was secretly hoping to hear something I hadn't heard yet, but it was cool to hear this version of NMW. I felt like the performance was less intense and focussed than the album version, but it was still very impassioned. It seemed less produced, which was nice, but I was hoping she would really scream her lungs out. Now, I know you won't believe me when I say this, but I swear when she sang, "I've got a loving man, but he's a spirit," she looked straight up at ME! It was the only time she really lifted her eyes up. She did a lot of pointing to herself throughout the song, which was cool.
