2001 - Handed by Carol, Nancy & PK] Sinéad
has pulled out of the Wotapalava festival due to "unforseeable family commitments,"
can reveal. She sent a fax to the festival comitee just a few hours before
the press conference in London. According to Pet Shop Boys, who organized
the event, Sinéad is contracted to appear on Wotapalava,
however according to a statement Sinéad made to allirelandmusic.com,
"nothing was every signed." She explained: "There was talk of it and I
did say I might be interested but nothing was ever signed. I'm going to
spend the summer in Dublin with my two children instead."
Pet Shop Boys frontman Neil
Tennant said that they are negotiating with Sinéad for some selected
dates, but there's still no concrete information on which dates she will
appear or if she will appear at all.
On a side note, some articles
mention that Sinéad is no longer signed to Atlantic
Records, with whom she signed a long term, six album contract a
few years ago. Sinéad's management has confirmed to Universal
Mother that the news are true, without acknowledging the reasons.
Currently Sinéad's in the stage of signing a new record deal.
Below you can find links

2001 - Handed by Mark] The Evening
Herald of Dublin printed a rumour that Sinéad wasn't sure whether
she would definitely be on the Wotapalava

In another news, there are no plans to release a third single from Faith

For those who were hoping a guest appearance by Sinéad, Universal
Mother can reveal that the gig has been cancelled probably due
to poor ticket sales.
2001 - Handed by Kai Chai] Pop
critic Jim Walsh wrote the following about Sinéad's Faith And
Courage, explaining why he thinks it is the best album of 2000:
favorite record of the year didn't get a single mention (OutKast, PJ Harvey,
and Radiohead were the top vote-getters), so I'm printing my comment about
because it bears repeating: Sinead O'Connor's important, huge record "Faith
and Courage" was the most intimate listening experience I had all year,
but given the nonreaction it was met with, I felt like I had it all by
my lonesome. She sang about praying, about striving for inner peace, and
in doing so, she sounded like a prophet in the eye of the chaos. But she
also sounded desperate, like she had figured out some important stuff that
she wanted to share with us, and we shrugged. Shame on us.
2001 - Handed by Kai Chai] Actor
William Petersen revealed in a 1998 interview that he would pick none other
than Sinéad to co-star with him on his dream project, Camelot. Here's
an excerpt from the article:
WOULD BE KING PICKS GUINEVERE

part William Petersen is dying to play? Would you believe King Arthur in
"Camelot"? The actor had fun ribbing Goodman Theatre Artistic Director
Robert Falls Wednesday night as key Goodman supporters began celebrating
next Tuesday's groundbreaking for the theater's new Loop home. At an Arts
Club of Chicago kickoff party, Falls was somewhat skeptical about a "Camelot"
production at the Goodman, but he good-naturedly quipped, "And you know
who Billy wants as his Guinevere?" "Sinead O'Connor?" Petersen exclaimed.
"Who cares if she can act? I can act around
her. But can
she sing...What a voice!".... If a Goodman "Camelot" ever would happen,
"I'd have to
just to make sure I'd get that dark, warped perspective into it," Falls
said with a wonderfully

2001 - Handed by Caroline] Sinéad
was a special guest at RTE's 45th
anniversary concert in Dublin and sang four songs: The Healing Room,
U Ever, Thief Of Your Heart and Spinning Wheel. Highlight
of the set was definitely Spinning Wheel, an old Irish tune which
Sinéad sang for the very first time.
During her performance,
Sinéad was accompanied by Maurice Seezer on the piano and also joined
by Gavin Friday for a duet on Thief Of Your Heart, which Friday
co-wrote with Bono and Seezer. An insider info says that there was talk
of the three writing new songs for Sinéad, but nothing is yet certain.
Mother has the songs as MP3's, but due to technical problems you'll
have to wait a bit till you get them here.
2001] Sinéad wrote an
introduction to Nóirín Ní Riain's musical reportary
which was relased last summer. Entitled Gregorian Chant Experience,

three-stage "ordeal" -to loosely translate the Britishism "palaver"- is
